So yes, CNN and BBC covered the hostage taking that took place in Quirino Grandstand. It was embarrassing for the whole world saw how the policemen took several minutes before they can end the hostage. Go on twitter, and you will see people angry at the SWAT (what?) for being cowards. You'll also see people angry at the media for covering the whole thing when it was a high time of "crisis" - some people demanded for a news blackout.
It's SAD, really SAD.
I remember reading an article for my Theo class by Hutchcroft. He mentioned that there was this organization or something that said that "after Iraq, the Philippines is the scariest (or unsafe) place for journalist." or something like that. And now this:
Filipinos say they want to leave the country RIGHT NOW. Others claim that Filipinos are banned from HK or will be tortured and other "crazy" shizznit. Why can't they wait for official statements from authorities about those matters? They just cause panic and add to the "chaos" that the people are both doing/making and experiencing.
